Pallet Mark is a desktop application for a bottling plant's production floor that replaced handwritten pallet sheets with structured, printed barcode labels traceable to line, shift and supervisor.

Pallet Mark is a shop-floor desktop application for a mineral water plant that labels every pallet as it comes off the line. Before, the shift supervisor filled in a paper sheet by hand — product name, production date, batch number, bottle count, packaging, gross weight — and tucked it inside the pallet, where a single wrong digit or a soaked sheet could make a batch untraceable. The app turns pallet labelling into a few keystrokes: pick a position and the pallet parameters fill themselves in, the date code is computed rather than counted on fingers, and the rules live next to the field instead of on a laminated sheet taped to the wall. Three reference books behind the form let the plant maintain its own assortment, and adding a second brand is a row in a lookup — the barcode prefix follows automatically. The label goes on the outside of the pallet, so a unit can be identified without taking it apart, and its barcode reveals the line, shift, supervisor and production period — a complaint that used to have no answer is now resolved in minutes. The smallest project on this list, and an instructive one: one application on the shop floor and a label printer next to it removed an entire class of production errors.
